Account Information

When an educator or other authorized user creates or uses an account, we may collect:

• School, institution, organization, or professional affiliation

• Communications with Scholarships.com
• Account verification information

Recipient Contact Information

Platform users may provide email addresses or other limited contact information for individuals with whom they wish to share scholarship-related information.

Providing contact information through the Platform does not automatically create a Scholarships.com account or personal scholarship profile for the recipient.

Communications and Content

We may collect information created, selected, or shared through the Platform, including:

• Scholarship lists
• Scholarship notices
• Messages and reminders
• Communication preferences
• Message delivery and engagement information
• Other scholarship-related content

Information Collected Automatically

When the Platform is accessed or used, we may automatically collect:

Recipient contact information is used to provide scholarship-related communications and operate the Platform.

Unless a recipient independently creates a Scholarships.com account or separately consents to additional uses, educator-provided contact information will not be used to:

• Create a personal scholarship profile
• Generate personalized scholarship matches
• Send independent marketing communications from Scholarships.com
• Advertise unrelated products or services
• Sell or share the information for targeted advertising

4. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information to:

• Service providers supporting hosting, security, communications, analytics, and technical operations
• Professional advisors when reasonably necessary
• Government authorities when required by law
• Parties involved in investigating fraud, misuse, or security threats
• A successor organization in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or transfer of business assets

Service providers may use information only to perform authorized services and must protect it according to their contractual and legal obligations.

Scholarships.com does not sell recipient contact information provided through the Platform or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. User Responsibilities

Platform users may provide only contact information they are authorized to use for scholarship-related communications.

Users and, where applicable, their institutions are responsible for:

• Providing required privacy notices
• Obtaining required consent
• Complying with applicable privacy and education laws
• Following institutional policies
• Maintaining accurate contact information
• Honoring requests to stop communications
• Removing information when authorization no longer exists

These responsibilities may include compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act ("FERPA") and other student privacy requirements.

Nothing in this Privacy Policy authorizes a user or institution to disclose information it is otherwise prohibited from disclosing.

6. Children Under 13

The Platform is not intended to collect information concerning children under 13.

Platform users may not:

• Provide contact information belonging to a child under 13
• Send communications to a child under 13
• Provide any other information concerning a child under 13

If we learn that information concerning a child under 13 has been provided, we may remove it and take other appropriate action.

7. Prohibited Personal Information

Users may not provide personal information other than the limited contact information permitted by the Platform.

The Platform may not be used to provide:

• Grades, transcripts, or disciplinary records

Recipients may request to stop communications by:

• Using an available unsubscribe or preference option
• Contacting the sender
• Contacting Scholarships.com at privacy@scholarships.com

Platform users must honor applicable requests to stop communications and may not re-add a recipient without appropriate authorization.

We may retain limited information necessary to document and honor a request or prevent additional communications.

9. Access, Correction, and Deletion

Subject to applicable law, account holders and recipients may request:

• Access to information associated with them
• Correction of inaccurate information
• Deletion of information
• A copy of certain information
• Information about how their information is used or disclosed

We may need to verify the requester's identity before completing a request. Certain information may be retained when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect security, prevent fraud, enforce agreements, or document a communication preference.

Account holders may remove recipient contact information using available account tools. Account deletion may not immediately remove information from backups or records that must be retained for legitimate legal, security, or operational purposes.
